In the construction world waterproof wood is mainly used to build the moulds for concrete walls and flours. There is a special coating at the outside of waterproof wood partly merged with the wood itself. This coating forms a hard and waterproof seal at the wood, so it is perfectly to build terrariums.

Advantage of Waterproof Wood :

Waterproof wood has the ability to absorb heat better than glass so the terrarium will keep it temperature more easy than glass terrariums. The terrarium build from waterproof wood only has a window in front, so your reptiles will feel more relaxed than in a glass terrarium. It is also more easy to be cleaned. These terrariums are mainly used for bigger reptiles like iguana’s, pythons, boa’s etc. etc.

Terrariumopmaat delivers the terrarium complete with plugs, sockets, light etc. Every terrarium has a black frame and a opening window in the front. Every window is constructed in a way that a python or other strong reptile can not open the window from the inside by pushing it out. But you can get the windows out for cleaning. The windows are made from 4mm glass if you like an other thickness it is possible but the price will be a bit higher than standard.

We make terrarium with sizes up to 125 cm × 100 cm × 200 or 200 cm × 100 cm × 125 cm and everything in between. Normal sized terrariums are fitted together already, but if you need extreme big terrariums it will be delivered as a kit. Everything you need to build the terrarium yourself is in the kit, like screws, glass, plates etc. etc. We do not provide the tools you need to build your terrarium. Everybody with some kind of technical feeling can build these terrarium themselves.
